Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career following enrolling at Stanford University. Early successes in the field of critical success included performances in films like Pleasantville and Election but it was her performance as Elle Woods in the box office smash Legally Blonde that marked a significant turning point in her career. Witherspoon won the Academy Award for her performance in Walk the Line in 2005. Water for Elephants this means war and Wild were two of her most recent films in which she was recognized as a nominee for the Oscar. The success of Witherspoon also grew to the world of television. She co-starred on David E. Kelley's Award-winning TV show Big Little Lies and a producer. Witherspoon has a father who is a physician and nurse. In 2003, she made her debut as a movie star in The Invisible Man. After that she would go on to appear in a number of television shows including House of Lies Whitney and Better Call Saul. In addition to her acting work, she has appeared in films such as The Dictator or The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. In addition to her work as a performer, Sheila is also an accomplished artist.
